No. 8 of the 9 featured test drives provide a brand-new digital secondary phone number via eSIM. Your existing physical SIM or primary eSIM remains completely untouched, allowing your phone to run both lines simultaneously (Dual SIM Dual Standby). The only exception is US Mobile, which mandates porting an active number.
Virtually all modern unlocked smartphones support digital eSIM profiles, including Apple iPhone XS / XR and newer, Google Pixel 3a and newer, and Samsung Galaxy S20 / Note 20 and newer. Your phone must be network-unlocked (paid off or carrier-unlocked) to download an eSIM from a competing carrier.
For trials marked "No Credit Card Required" (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Visible, Cricket, Mint), the temporary secondary line simply deactivates automatically. You are never billed, and you can delete the expired eSIM profile from your phone's Cellular settings in 5 seconds. For trials requiring a credit card (Google Fi), you must cancel in the app before day 7.
Set your phone's cellular data toggle to the trial eSIM while keeping voice/SMS set to your primary line. Test indoor signal inside your home and office, test upload/download throughput during 5 PM rush hour, and monitor audio clarity on highway commute dead zones.
